BUSH REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The president, Mr 11. E„ Rogers, was in the chair at the annual meeting of the Bush Referees' Association, held at Pahiatua on Saturday night. Others present were Messrs E. Matson. E. Fisher, W. Lawry, J. Sandman, and the secretary (Mr R. Bridge). The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows: — Patron. Mr B. Harvey; president, Mr H. Rogers; vice-presidents, Messrs J. de P. Manson, C. Parsons. E. Fisher, G. Morgan, S. K. Siddells, C. C. Smyth, E. L. Harvey, C. Eddie, R. Irvine, M. Galvin and Drs. Paterson and Watson; representative to Bush Rugby Union. Mr W. Lawry; secretary, Mr R. Bridge; treasurer, Mr C. C. Smyth; selectors for referees, Messrs W. Lawry and B. Harvey. The meeting closed after an informal discussion on the prospects of the coming season. ' CHARGES OF THEFT ACCUSED SENT TO GAOL. A special sitting of the Eketahuna S.M. Court was held yesterday, Messrs H. E. Greathead and M. R. Herbert, presiding. Vivian Henry George Wink, alias Cheesman, alias Butler, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft at Pahiatua. He was sentenced to three months’ hard labour on each charge, the terms to be accumulative. Albert George Clapperton was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court, Wellington, on two charges of incest. Persona). Mr B. Ditman returned home yesterday from Wairoa where he had been called owing to the serious illness of his father. Tenders Called For. The Eketahuna County Council is to carry out repairs to its cottage at Hukantii, and lor this purpose has called tenders which are to close on Thursday, May 9.
