Mr Tennant, of Massey Agricultural College, is on a visit to Masterton, and is staying at the Empire Hotel. His Grace Archbishop O’Shea has consented to attend the Charity Ball at Masterton on August 2, and receive the debutantes of which it is expected there will be a considerable number. Mr C. M. Turrell has been appointed a member of the board of trustees oi the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum, Wellington, representing the Wellington Harbour Board.
Dr W. A. Stewart. Victoria, a former British sprint champion and Scottish international Rugby player, arrived at Auckland by the Tolten from Tahiti on Wednesday on a holiday visit to New Zealand.
Professor James Williams. LL.M., Ph.D., professor of England and New Zealand law at Victoria University College, Wellington, has been appointed a member of the Council of Legal Education, representing the University Senate.
Mr A. Vaughan, manager of the Pahiatua branch of the W.F.C.A., Ltd., will resume duty on Monday after an absence of eight weeks on a tour of Java, the Malay States and Saignon. Mr J. Caselberg, of Masterton, has been acting as relieving manager during his absence. Mr T. G. W. Page, manager of the Wellington-Hawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association, which has taken over the administration of herd testing and related activities in the Wairarapa, has been in this district during the last few days attending the final annual meetings of the Wairarapa group associations. An advisory committee is to be maintained in each area hitherto organised under a group association. Mr Page returned today to his headquarters in Palmerston North.
