The first day of the Auckland Trotting Club’s winter meeting was held today in perfect weather before a large crowd. The track was in fair order. Hillcrest, winner of the Hobson Handicap, paid over two score for a win. The totalisator handled £45.139, compared with £33.388 10s last year, an increase of £11,750 10s.
