Carterton Borough Council

The second meeting of the Oerterton Borough Council took place on Tuesday, when Mr W Partridge was appointed roadman and poundkeaper. It was resolved that all poond sues be held on Saturdays. Mr W Philpot was elected Inspector of Nuisances.

The Clerk explained that it would be necessary to appoint a committee to adjust accounts with the Carterton* Taratahi Hoad Board, and for the per* pose of sinking a balance on the Slat July. His Worship the Mayor, Crs Dollar, Booth and McKenzie were appointed a committee to deal with the proposed erection of lamps on Belvedere Road.

It was resolved to lease the reserve for cropping purposes. Cr Bayliss complained of the injury done to Belvedere Road by Wakelin’a tramway. Left in the hands of the Lamp Committee.
