JDNIOU our. STABS v OKKYTOWN. Last Satuiday oa the Gret town Reserve the lied Star* (Mastcrtuu) played a match with the Grey town Second Fifteen (or the Junior Cup, which resulted in a win (or the Stare by a goal to ail. The Stare kicked off, and there was a lot o( scrimmaging about the half way dig, Greytown made a flue melt, Cameron ami Webster showing up well, and forced the Stars doan. The Stare rallied, and by a splendid rush, carried the play into the Greytown ‘J.Vs; Owing to some bad play hy the Greytown backs, Albert Hoar dashed in with the ball aud scored a t.y, from which K Felling kicked a good goal Ibis hit o( good luck gave the Stars more ooDlldenoe, aud from this to the end of the game the Stare had by (ar the best o( the game. Greytown looked liked scoring several times, but the superior play o( the Star backs saved their team. Cameron, J MoMaster aud Webster played splendidly, but the Greytown half backs wore very poor compared to their opponents. In the second spell Greytown were forced down repeatedly, and it was only owing to the saving game o( A Origg and A | MoMaster that the Stars were stopped from sooting' The Stars had by far the best o( t ie game, the play being confined to the Greytown ‘2s’s nearly all the spell, although the Greytown forwards made some gallant ciforts to score, but without avail. For the Stars Tom Hawke aud Ted Felling played splendidly behind the scrim, their punting being admired by all; Watson and Kmmett also did some good work in following up ■ all their forwards played well together, the most noticeable being Thomas and Martin For the Greytown team Webater, J and A MoMaster played well behind ‘he scrim, but were feebly backed up by their half backs • A Qrigg played well as (all back; the forwards worked bard but lacked tbe unity and dash that makes tbe Stars so conspicuous. Fisher and Cameron were very conspicuous on the wings. Mr 0 Beard for Greytown, and Mr A A MoKain lor Stars, acted as umpires : Mr Wiekenoo was referee.
