THE ELECTION.
MR BUNNY at MARTINBOROUGH. Mr H, Bunny addressed the Martinborough electors of the Wairarapa on Friday evening last. There was a full meeting at the Town Hall, aud the candidate was well received. Mr H. C. Cowman was voted to the chair, Mr Bunny’s remarks were frequently applauded. After the address, several questions were asked of the candidate, the principal of which was from Mr Andrews, who asked if Mr Bunny did not think the perpetual leasing system would have a deterrent effect in the way of the settlement or progress of the colony. Mr Bunny did not think so. Persons wishing to purchase land could do so independently of auy perpetual or other lease. A vote of thanks was voted *o Mr Bunny, aud another to tho chair brought the meeting to a close.
