The Greytown Hospital.

The following is (he report of the Inspector of Hospital* on the Qreytown Hospital in a paper juet laid belore Parliament: — " Lise the hospital at Master ton, I found (hie empty, but uot nearly so well found by the Committee, nor so well kept by Mr Wright and hie wit The site is, ou doubt, id adapted for gardening purposes, though exceedingly healthy for a hospital; still, that is n» excuse lor the slovenly way in which the ground is kept. A few loads of gravel, which is surely plentiful enough in this neighborhood, and a little paint bestowed on the building would greatly improve the appearance of things. A* regards me internal Arrangements, they are very plain, but sufficient. The wards ar* airy aud well ventilated , the beds are clean and comfortable. There is a suitable kitchen with a good range, which ie wed kept. Be* niud the kitchen are the store and scullery ; the store is at present empty, and the scullery is very small and has no sink. In the rear of the hospital two old immigrants' oottage* have been fixed up, the one on the right to serve as a sort of general annexe, containing a washhouse with a boiler built in, a good mangle, aud gulvauizedsiron washing-tub*. This also contains a place which serves as a bath-room. For contagious oases there is a good portable natu. Another sim.lar dilapidated cottage to the left serves aa a fever ward : it is plain deal-lined, cheerleti, and draughty. It ha* tecently been roofed with iron, as the old *hingle>rooi was very leaky. Two privies and a fowlhouae complete the outbuildings. Only one small room is provided (or the steward and matron. There ia a room which serves os a dispensary, with a good medicine-press well slocked with drugs, got from the local druggist. Books—a diary and register ; the latter very well kept. English and Catholic clergymen visit regularly. A visitor is appointed monthly.—lßth September, 1886.”
