Greytown Winter Entertainments.

Ou Monday evening the third entertainment of the season was given at the Town Hall, Greytown to a very fair audience. Ou this occasion Miss Tocker, Miss Gundy, and Messrs Parker, Stevenson, and Speakman came from Featherston, Mr Moucricfl from Wuihakeko, and wo can take upon ourselves to publicly thank those ladies and gentlemen ou behalf of tho committee for coming such a distance to aid the effort now being made iu Greytown to secure a good tire engine. Miss Gundy and Mr Parker opened the programme of tho evening with a piano duet; Miss Tocker twice sang in her usual sweet voice and was warmly encored; Mr Stevenson received similar honors for his two songs ; Mr Speakman supplied the comic dement, and it is unnecessary to say that he had to ro-appear after both songs ; Mr Campbell gave a reading from Shakespeare ; Miss E. Wyott contributed two songs, and responded to an encore ; Mr MoucriefTs nautical song was also encored; Master J. Horublow’s stum]) speech was well given, and he was was warmly applauded ; the programme was concluded with a duet by Messrs Black and Stevenson, very nicely rendered, Tho baud played a selection before and after the concert. Mr Cuff and Dr Spratt wore the caterers for the evening and they fully satisfied the public widr their bill of fare.
