Greytown Volunteer Soiree.
The annual Yolunteer Soiree at Greytown took place last night and was an unqualified success. About 50 couples were present and the Town Hall was handsomely draped with flags and military arms, such as swords, rifles, &o. Tbe music was considered very good, the Quadrille Baud being composed of Messrs Luudqvist (violin), Yarnham (cornet), and Mrs M. Wood (piano). Major Bunny and some visitors from Featherston were present and some also from Carterton, Tbe refreshments, liberally contributed by the lady friends of the Qreytown volunteers, were good and those present were well waited on by Mrs Willason and Mrs Munn, who kindly volunteered their services. Dancing was sustained until 4 o’clock this morning, when e/eryone left with the impression that they had been well entertained.
