Sporting Notes.

Tiro steeplechaser Dragon, who was purchased recently in Sydney for £6OO, was only a short time back sold for £25, The Australian racehorse Myall King has been purchased on behalf of Lord William Beresford, aud will shortly bo taken to India. It is stated that some of the leading bookmakers of Victoria we between £SOOO and £15,000 out over the V.E.C. aud A.J.C. meetings. The New Zealand ,Grand National Steeplechase, to be run at Christchurch on July 28, will have added money to the extent of 400 sovs this year. The Sydney Turf Club have initiated a day’s sport in which the whole of tiro events are to be contested by horses ridden by bona fide amatours. Tho Queensland Turf Club have decided to have a '* Centennial Handicap " next year, which will have added money to the extent of 2000 sovs tacked on to it.

I ho Wellington Racing Club announce a meeting for July 9, at which £585 will be given in added money. The N.Z. Stud Company have nomiuated twelve youngsters for the A.J.C. Oaks, eight being by Musket and four by lugomar. The Middle Park Stud Company (Christchurch) are represented by four.
