Church Parade.

Yesterday morning the Greytown Rifle Volunteers and the Borough Fire Brigade mustered for church parade. The Hon Chaplain of the Volunteers, ihe Rev W T Western, is about to leave in a few weeks for Europe, and this parade was arranged to pay a parting tribute of respect to the Rev gentleman, who since, be has resided in the district, has been very papular with both of these bodies. Tbe Grey town Brass Band, under Mr M. A Varnham, played the men to and from church, and their march music was pronounced excellent. Tbe Hcv Mr Western gave a most interesting and suitable address, and was listened to by his congregation with groat attention. Major Bunny drove up from Featherston, and theVoluuteei officeis present were Capts Cameron and Jury, Lieuts Forritt and Johnston. The Fire Brigade were under Captain Maguire with Lieuts Bowers aud Phillips. Before the men were dismissed at the Postoffice, Major Bunny addressed them, and said it gave him much pleasure to be present, although he regretted much the circumstance that bad called them together, as no doubt they would all be sorry to lose their chaplain ; he said that they (the Volunteers) would have another opportunity to meet the Hon Chaplain, as he would finally part wiih them at the Featherston review on the 24-th inst.; he said that the Featherston and Carterton Volunteers intended to be present if tbe weather had been suitable for the journey. He announced that an inspection parade would take place tomorrow night and another on the 17th inst.
