The President’s report as read at the meeting of the Wairarapa Pastoral Association on Saturday was as follows : “In laying before you the annual balance sheet and accounts made up to the 31st March, 1887, I hare pleaafire in pointing out to you the improved position of the Society’s finances. The statement of assets and liabilities annexed hereto will show you that the Bank overdraft, which at the commencement of last year was L 262 19s, has been reduced at the end of the year to L 163 2s 4d and that a liability of LO2 16s 6d incurred on account of the building of Grand Stand has been paid off. The result of the year’s transactions is therefore , fairly satisfactory, and it is to he trusted that next year will show a corresponding improvement in the Society’s atfairs. “The thanks of the Society is due to the Committee which has with so much success worked to obtain sub scriptions towards the reduction of permanent debt, and wo have to again acknowledge the liberal oilers of special prizes given for last show.
