Featlierston School Committee Election.

To the Editor of the Standard. Sir, —If one more proof was wanting of the objectionable character of cumulative voting on school committees, the farce carried out last night at the Featherstou school ia a worthy instance of it. When a few persons calling themselves gentlemen, associate themselves with the larrikin element, to place a man at the head of the poll, totally unfitted for the position, thereby grossly insulting other members of the committee who have a little common sense and who have done good service in the past, no doubt the ratepayers will remember those gentlemen who so far forgot themselves, at some future time. 1 think the matter of cumulative voting should be brought before the members of the Education Board with a view to its alteration. I am, &c., Fiat Justitia.
