Fire at Carterton.
P.niwcen I and t! o'clock tIT morning the residents of OniurtJu were aroused from tl.eir HJumlow by an alarm of fire, and flames were ••(■on Usui from Air linns Oonradscu’s 'juieii; iii Dix-i.i snoot. The whole of the household furniture and effects were destroyed, Thu building was insured in the National lor LilOO. The origin of the tire is unknown.
