New Druid’s Lodge at Greytown.

An important meeting of Greytown reel* dents was held at the Greytown Gymnasium on Wednesday night, to take into consideration the forming of a Droid’s Lodge in Qreytown. There was a very good attendance, and Dr Smith was voted to the chair. Mr Jones, of the firm of Jones and Ashdown, Wellington, who is the Wellington District President, attended to explain and set forward the benefits and advantages connected with the Order, Bro P. A., Geo. M. Gardener and others connected with the craft also attended from Carterton, and supported the remarks made by the district officer, after which it was resolved to form a lodge in Greytown. It appeared from the lists submitted to the meeting that the application for the charter of the new Lodge bad been numerously signed by intending members, most of them very eligible ones, and there is every prospect of the Lodge opening with quite forty members. The name of the new Lodge is to be called the “ Waiohine Lodge.” Mr C. Fabian, of Fabian Brothers, was duly appointed the first Arch, and Mr T. Johnston, of the firm of Veitch and Allan, will probably take Vice Arch. Mr H. de Clifton was appointed secretary, and Dr Smith Lodge Surgeon. The Lodge will be opened in due form on Thursday, January 20, and a supper will be provided for the occasion. It is expected that the Lodge will rapidly increase in numbers, and it is contemplated to short y initiate a similar movement in Featherston.
