Volunteering

A meeting of the shooting committee of the Qreytewn Bifles was held last night. Present; —Captain Cameron in the chair, Lieut Porritt, Sergt Trotman, Vol Fisher, and C. Higgins, secretary. The following handicaps were declared lor the shooting for the Chaplain’s cup aud other prizes. First competition to take place on Saturday next, Btb met. Two sighting shots allowed at each range, and any competitor arriving on the ground after the firing at the first range is finished, will forfeit bis shooting at that range Captain Cametou scratch. Lieut Porritt 2 points, Lieut Johnston 9, Color Sergt Willason scratch, Sergts Trotman 6, Gooding 5, Humphries 3, Corpl Maguire 10, Bugler Hobman 10. Privates—Baillie 10, Blake 9, Benge 10, Braggins 10, Campbell 12, Collier 10, Cameron 15, Dockery 25, Dooley 9, Groube 25, Gooding 9, Hall sen 9, Hail juu 12, Hebley 12, J It Hobman 7, C Higgins 20, J W Hawke, 9, F J Hawke 15, C J Higgins 15, Harris 4, Ingley 9, Johnson 9, Phillips 9, Bowe 10, Koydhouse 20, Sayers 8, Smith 9. Competitors must take their own ammunition from tho Volunteer office, the officer in charge to inspect the same i evious to bring at each range, shooting to commence to 2.30 p.m.
