A Borough Lamp.
!fo the Editor of the Standard. But,—Will jou kindly inform me if there ie to be & new street opened up, by the side oi Dr Smith’s pro* perty, in Main Street, Greytown, as I understand the Borough Councillors have decided to remove the lamp recently erected opposite Haatwell Street to a site opposite Dr Smith’s residence. The present site was chosen as most suitable in every respect, and particularly as being opposite and lighting up a side street. As each of the other side streets in the Borough hare a lamp opposite them, 1 presume it must be the intention ot tne Council to bpen up a new street, as otherwise I fail to see the wisdom of moving a lamp already erected, to a site where it really is not wanted, and can be of comparatively little benefit. I am, Ac,, Ratkpaykk.
