Last Night's Concert.

The concert at tbe Town Hall last night was quite as suocesful as any of the previous ones. The attendance was large and those who took part, without exception, made a favorab'e impression upon (heir hearers. The Rev Mr Western and Mr Wyett had the management of tbe affair, and they did so to the evident satisfaction of those present. The Brass Band, under the oonduotorsbip of Mr Varnham, played three selections, and their music was much appreciated. Miss Annie Jackson, of Stonestead, sang two songs ; she was in capital voice. Miss Haigh and Mr Loasby played a duet (piano and flute respectively) with marked snccau. Mi Gamble’s song, "Excelsior” was a fin* effort, and he just escaped a recall. Miss Jennie Wood, a youthful violinist, with her mama at the piano, played in snob a style as to draw a hearty encore. Master Charles Downard sang in character the eong " Driven from Home." The word* of the long, the tattered rainment, and the boy’* voice, gave a touch of the realistic audience, and the lad wae encored warmly. He later on sang “ Somebody Whlapered eo Sweetly,” in company with his brother, and the effort was a highly pleasing one; an encore followed. Mrs Arnot aang " Annie Laurie ” very nicely, Miss Wyett and Mr Oufl taking up the ohoius. Miss York made her first appearance as s soloist, and her song was sweetly rendered, though rather low through nervous .e-s ; this, however, is a misfortune and not a fault, and she will get more nerve with prao* tioe. During the evening the stage w.ie at times strewn with flowers thrown to the various singers who had found favor in toe eyes of the audience.
