Mr J. Hyde Parker’* Plain and Fancy Dress Ball pasted off on Monday tveoiug in the Oddfellow*’ Hall with tb* customary eclat. There was a large attendaeoe and all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Mr and Mrs Parker and s good many others wert in laooy costume, and tba hall, which was beautifully decorated, looked vary gay. Mr Parkas’! music lent zest to th* animation of dm dancers, who testified with nimbi* fast tha enthusiasm they derived from hi* sparkling and particularly well timed pianoforte playing. The refreshments war# on a lavish scale ; fowls, toogne, ham sandwiches, jellies, blano manges, tarts of every variety, lolliaa, As., being in profusion. Mr Parker hopes (weather permitting) to be able to arrange a party in faney costume to visit the btll at Oreytown on tbs first at July.
