The Rabbit Pest.
The report obtained at the instance of the A mini Sheepfarmere’ Association by Mr Faster, Sheep Inspector, end Mr Duncan Kutboifoid, of Leslie Hills, on the spread of rabbits in the Amuri district* proved existence of the vermin in alarm log numbers and quite beyond the control of the owner* of the infested run*. H* suggested that the Amuri and North Canterbury farmers should umte to erect a rabbit-proof fence to prevent the r spreading beyond the Clareneo Pdver, and to take energelie measures for their extermination. This course wsa approved. The representatives of the Amuri Adaptation will prononnd a scheme lor i geuuial approval. The Chairman, Mr 3. D 1 Lince. mid he would endeavor to get Par--1 mraeutary assistance, as the Grown lands would become worthless if rabbits gained a footing on them. i
