The s.s. Taupo.
.... Nambb. April 89. An inquiry into the circumstances of the grounding of the Taupo was held this afternoon before the Collector of Customs The evidence taken will be forwarded to Wellington. Reporters were not admitted at the inquiry. The vessel does not leak, No plates appear to be broken, though her bottom is is considerably bulged. She is being lightened aft, so that the screw can be got at, and as soon as two new blades are put in she will sail on her voyage, unless ordered to return to Dunedin. Ap«i aa The inspection of the hull of the s.s. Taupo by divers allows (hat the vessel has sustained no injury.
