Football.
The Greytown Football Club opened the season with a most successful practice on Saturday, many old players appearing once more on the field, which augurs well for the success of the team this year. As the Welling too Football Club intend paying this district a visit on Easter Monday it is to be hoped that all likely team men will go into regular training and practice, and that all others will also turn out on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A general meeting of the Club was held on Saturday evening last, when it was decided to invite Carterton to play a match here on Saturday, 17th April, and also to arrange a scratch match for Saturday next, Trial Team versus All Comers. The names of these teams will appear in our Wednesday's issue. A vote of thanks was passed to the delegates to the Union for the work they had done ou the 27th March.
A meeting of the delegates to the Union will be held at Carterton on Saturday evening next to receive the report of the sub committee appointed to frame rules, &e.
