NELSON J. C. HANDICAP. Nelson. March 24. The first day of the Nelson Jockey Club’s annual meeting proved highly successful. About 3000 were on (lie ground. Hurdles— F.rebus 1, Client 2, Sailor Boy 3. Maiden Plate Blarney 1, fork of tbe Walk 2, Lonmista 3. The Selling Hack liace was won bv Mr Lambeit’s Ndlv, a Marlborough horse. The Nelson ( up. of 200 sove, was won by 11. Redwood's Alpine Rose by a length and a ha'f; Silence was 2, Reputation 3, Tiick* Sler next, and Tramp last. Nine started. Totalisalor dividend, £1 13s. District Handicap— Puritan 1, Stella 2. Manfred 3. Dividend, £22 14s. Railway Plate—Revoke 1, Fay 1, Silence 3. £2379 passed through the tot ilisalor. The second day (yesterday), was fine and tbe largest gathering ever on the Nelson course was present. Tho Hurdles were won by Krebns, Orient second and Sailor Boy third. Div £3 Is. The Maiden Plate wa* won by Blarney.
