Cebtiin alterations in r&ilwaj freight charges which bare been notified in the Gazette, come into force on Monday neat. The freight on milk consigned to cheese and batter factories is rednced to one farthing pet gallon tor each additional ten (instead of fifteen) miles after the first fifteen miles. The grain rates are farther reduced for distances from tonr to sixteen miles. The redactions begin at a penny per ton per mile, and increases to ninepenoe at eight miles, and gradually decreases again to a penny at sixteen miles. At seventeen and upward the rates remain as before. For store cheep in large flocks, for 100 miles and upward, il certified by the consignor to be bona fide “ store ” stock, not consigned for slaughter, the charge will be £8 18s 9d per truck for the first thirteen trucks tor the first 100 miles; for each additional truck £1 10s; for each additional mile, 8d per truck per mile.
