Land Board.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting was held yesterday. Present—Messrs H. Bunny (in the chair), W. A. Fitzherbert, A. Beese, and W. W. McCardle. The Wairarapa East County Council applied on behalf of Messrs Keitland and Compton for permission to take timber from Crown lands fronting sections 154 and 156, Tiramea river, for culverts, Ac, The application was approved. Regarding the application of Mr H. Axup to lease about 3000 acres on the Buabine Range, a repm i was read from the District Surveyor on tb * land, Arc., and on the motion of Mr McCardle it was decided that the laud should be surveyed as soon as possible, by offering it on the small run system. Mr McMillan’s appli cation to purchase part of Pahiatua township reserve was deferred to the next meeting cf the Board. Mr Mossman, selector of section 0, block IV., Makina, wrote to the effect tin t he bought the land under the impression that the sections would be of a small ate . The Board deemed to see no reason to alter the scheme agreed upon. Mr Isaac Mon', gomery applied to lease section 3, block IN, Waipakoura. The Board decided to de 1 with the matter when the whole of the bloc . is being offered.
