Reserve Committee.

A meeting of the Recreation Reserve Committee, Greytowu, was held at the Council Chambers last evening- Present: Messrs J. Baillie (in the chair), Skeet, Muir, Maguire, Cameron, Gray, Fuller and J. Nation. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary (Mr Muir) reported that he had received a letter from the Sports Committee, re fencing the reserve fronting on the back line, and offering (0 assist in erecting one. Mr Baillie very kindly offered to provide material for the same, consisting of 4, 5, and 6 inch stuff, and wait till the Committee were in a position to pay for the same. Resolved that Mr Baillie's offer be accepted, the fence to be six feet high, close boarded, and to be capped. With respect to charges to different bodies using the reserve, it was decided to charge the cricketers and footballers £3 per season each. The Treasurer reported sufficient funds in baud to pay the incoming rent hill. it was decided to hold a working bee next Saturday afternoon, at I 3d to put up the fence, and also to ask .the cooperation and assistance of footballers, cricketers, fire brigade, and others who might take an interest in the reserve, each to bring a spado or hammer. Mr Skeet submitted a sketch of the grand stand, but it was considered advisable to postpone the matter for the present. The question of planting was also menlioned, but it was decided to leave it for a future occasion.
