THE GRANDSTAND

ALL TENDERS TOO HIGH. In a statement to a “ Waipa Post" representative, Mr J. L. Callaghan, on behalf of the Albert Park Grandstand Building Trustees, said that difficulty had been experienced owing to the tenders received being appreciably higher than anticipated—and considerably above the amount of money in hand. The trustees decided, rather reluctantly, not to accept any tender, and they are now considering other ways and means of meeting the demand for a a grandstand building. M!r Callaghan added that it was obvious that the proposal to have the building erected in readiness for use at the Te Awamutu A., P. and H. Association’s annual show in February would have to be abandoned.
