THE NEW CABINET
MR LANGSTONE TAKES LANDS. MR LEE MARTIN AGRICULTURE. The new' Labour Cabinet was officially announced yesterday morning, and is as follows: Hon. M. J. Savage: Prime Minister, and Minister of External Affairs, Native Minister, Minister in Charge of 1 Native Trust, Cook Islands, Legislative, Electoral Districts, and Audit and High Commissioner’s Departments. Hon. W. Nash: Minister in Charge of Fiance, Customs, Stamp Duties, State Advances, Land and Income Tax, Public Service, Superannuation, Public Trust, Government Life Insurance, State Fire Insurance, and Census and Statistics Departments. Hon W. Lee Martin: Minister of Agriculture and in Charge of Friendly Societies, and National Provident Fund. Hon. H. G. A. Mason: AttorneyGeneral, Minister of Justice and Minister in Charge of the Prisons Department and Registrar General’s Department. Hon. It. Semple: Minister of Publice Works, and Minister in Charge of Roads and Public Buildings, and Minister of Transport.. Hon. P. Fraser: Minister of Education and Health, and in charge of Mental Hospitals, Marine, Minister in Charge of Inspection of Machinery and Police Departments. Hon. D. G. Sullivan: Minister of Railways, Industries and Commerce, and Industrial and Scientific Research. Hon. F. Langstone: Minister of Lands, and in Charge of State Forests, Lands for Settlement, Scenery Preservation and Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement, Valuation Department, Tourist and Health Resorts and Publicity.
Hon. H. T. Armstrong: Minister of Labour, Employment and Immigration.
Hon. W. E. Parry: Minister of International Affairs and Pensions Department, Minister in Charge of Museums and Advertising. Hon. P. C. Webb: Minister of Mines and Minister in Charge of Printing and Stationery. Hon. F. Jones: Postmaster General and Minister of Defence, and Minister of Telegraphs.
Hon. W. E. Barnard: Speaker of the House of Representatives. Hon. E. J. Howard: Chairman of Committees.
Hon. M. Fagan: Leader of the Legislative Council and Minister without Portfolio.
Hon. J. A. Lee: Parliamentary Undersecretary to the Prime Minister. The party whips are Messrs W. J. Jordan and R. McKeen. It is expected that Cabinet will held its first formal meeting this evening or to-morrow morning.
