VALEDICTORY

PRESENTATIONS TO MRS WARREN.

A very pleasant function took place at the offices of Advance Cars, Ltd., on Friday evening 'last, when the directors presented Mrs Warren (nee Miss Kathleen Sterritt) with a wireless set as a mark of appreciation of her services as a member of the staff for the past 3 h years. In a very br/ief but neatly-worded speech, the chairman commented on Mrs Warren’s efficiency, capability and charming manner, and wished her every happiness (in her future sphere. Several of the directors also spoke feelingly in a similar strain and while realising the gap that would be left in the staff, they were satisfied that she had taken a wise and well-thought-out step, and therefore th«ty wished her every happiness. Mr Warren suitably replied on behalf of his wife, and later Mrs Warren said a few words also, thanking the directors and commenting on the happy association of the period as a member of the staff. Earlier in the evening the staff of Advance Cars, Ltd., presented Mrs Warren with a set of Albion saucepans and kettle. Mr A. Spooner, in a few well-chosen words, asked Mrs Warren to accept this gift from, the staff as a memento of the happy relationships which had existed among them during the last three and ahalf years. Mrs Warren thanked the staff very prettily, and asked the members to visit her in her new home, where they would be heartily welcome.
