SUB-PROVINCIAL SCHEME. The following report on the new sub-provincial scheme came before the last meeting of Waikato branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union: " That the Waikato sub-province be re-formed under the new sub-provin-cial scheme, and centring on Hamilton; that an area officer be appointed with headquarters in Hamilton; that monthly meetings of the sub-provin-cial executive be held in Hamilton, and that expenses of members be paid for attendance at quarterly meetings only; that a comprehensive and complete canvass of the sub-provincial district be undertaken within twelve months by as many competent organisers as can be obtained or are required; and that this meeting recommends, if this scheme is approved, it have a duration of at least five years before there be any question of revision." After discussion the report was adopted, on the understanding that the sub-provincial retain its present funds and the right to employ a local secretary and retain a local office, and that the Auckland provincial executive employ an organiser at its own cost out of its own funds.
