SIX MONTHS' FIGURES. WELLINGTON, Friday. For the six months ended June 30 there were 338 bankruptcies recorded in the Dominion which is 2 less than for the corresponding six months of last year. The insolvencies in the North Island numbered 246 against 229, an increase of 17 or 7.4 per cent; in the South Island the figures were 92 against 111, a decrease of 19, or 17.11 per cent. In the month of June the bankruptcies in the North Island numbered 57, against 30 in June, 1929, and in the South Island 15 against 24, the totals being 72 against 54. There has been an increase in the number of deeds of assignment. In the North Island, for the six months to the end of June, the number was 69 against 66 in the corresponding six months of last year, and in the South Island 32 against 25, the totals being 101 against 91, an increase of 10. Bankruptcies and deeds of assignment for the six months numbered 439, against 431, an increase of eight.
