MILITARY TRAINING
SERVICE AS VOLUNTEERS. (By Telegraph. Press Association.)HAMILTON, Friday. V Although compulsory military training has been temporarily suspended, all the officers and non-commissioned officers of the Waikato and Hauraki Regiments have intimated their desire to remain on the strength of their regiments as volunteers. The Waikato Regiment has 51 officers and 70-non-commissioned officers, and the Hauraki Regiment has 36 officers and 73 non-commissioned officers. In addition 23 officers and 63 noncommissioned officers of the Waikato Mounted Rifles have decided to remain on the strength as volunteers. A training course for candidates seeking promotion will be held at Hamilton from September 4 to September 9. Twenty-four non-commis-sioned officers and 26 officers will sit. for the examinations.
