MOTOR VEHICLES BURNED
GARAGE AND SHOP SUFFER. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ Friday. A fire shortly before 2.30 o’clock this morning gutted the motor garage of Goldingbam and Beckett, also a shop /iext door occupied by W. Hardley, electroplater. The outbreak was preceded by an explosion. The brigade did smart work in confining the flames to both premises. Inside the garage were three cars and three motor lorries; all were more or less damaged. The insurances on the vehicles totalled £3950, but the stock and plant in the garage were not covered. Hardley’s shop, owned by D. O’Reilly, plumber, was insured with the other portion in the same block for £BOO. Hardley’s stock and plant were covered for £SOO. Both the garage and the shop were badly damaged.
