WEDDING

BROMELL—BERRY. On Wednesday, June 30tli, a wedding ■was soLemnised at the boarding house, Pirongia (the residence of the bride's parents) when Ellen Mary (Elma) eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. C. Berry, was joined in holy matrimony with Mr Bernard Bromell, son of the late Mr Bromell, of England. The Rev. Father Zanna officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a creme embossed marocain dress handsomely trimmed with pearls, and wore the usual wreath and veil. She also carried a beautiful bouquet of seasonable flowers. Miss Bernice Berry (sister of the bride) was bridesmaid, and was attired in a pretty dress of pink Oriental satin, while Mr James Berry carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony the guests, numbering about eighty, repaired to the Memorial Hall, where a dainty wedding breakfast was partaken of. After the customary toasts had been honoured Mr and Mrs Bromell left en route for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a costume of henna repp cloth, with hat to match. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a wristlet watch, and she received in return a set of silver backed brushes. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a wristlet watchr. The presents were numerous and useful, and included a number of cheques, also the gifts presented to the young couple at a kitchen evening held recently in the Memorial Hall in their honour.
