CHILD'S PAINFUL DEATH .; (By Telegraph. Press Association.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. An inquiry into the circumstances 1 that led to the death of Ivan Koller, a child of six years, who succumbed to injuries following a fall into-a crateof hot whey at the Rototuna cheese factory, was held at the Hamilton Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. -Mr R. F. Haycock, J. P., presided, and Sergt. Cooper represented the police. Dr, A. Joseph said he examined the child early Saturday afternoon, and found that he had been extensively scalded on the thighs and forearms. The child was then asleep and showingno signs of shock. On Sunday evening deceased was removed to hisgrandparents' residence in O'Neill Street, and in the evening seemed atrifle better. On the following morning deceased was suffering from extreme shock, and despite all treatment known, failed to rally, and died about 1.30 on Monday afternoon. Hans Jensen Koller, father of ■ deceased, stated that on Saturday he was working at the end of the vats in the Rototuna cheese factory, of which he was; manager. He heard the screams from his child at the other end of the vat. He found deceased clothes and hair were wet with casein and he appeared in great pain. The temperature of the casein was from 150 to 160 degrees. The crate was about 18 inches high, and the youngster had. apparently overbalanced and fallen in. Te jury returned a verdict that deceased met his death from shock as a result of falling into a crate of hot whey.
