POPULATION INCREASING.
ONE MILLION AND ONE-THIRD. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Statistician's return shows that the population of New Zealand slightly increased during the June quarter, when it stood at 1,326,664, compared with 1,325,301 at the end of March, and 1,318,884 at the end of last year. These figures excUud/e thiei Cook Islands (13:,375) and Western Samoa (38,100). The Samoan population shows a decline during the June quarter.
