SPORTING.
At the Waikato meeting on Saturday Taurangi won the Cup, with Balinavar and Golden Sheila in the places. Good dividends were the order of the day, but the totalisator investments increased by £3227 on the first day last year. Rarotonga won the big race at the Levin meeting, paying a very useful price. The favorite, Corroboree, was unplaced. At the Williamstown meeting the New Zealander Catalogue ran second to Maikai in the Cup.
