The Tower Bridge Bill
Last year the bascules of the Tower Bridge were raised on 5,372 occasions, an average of fourteen times daily, and land traffic was suspended for periods ranging from two to twenty minutes.
The cost of maintaining the Tower Bridge and its approaches for the year was £25,612* This was met out of funds of the Bridge House Estates Committee of the Corporation.
