Famous Racecourse Farrier
A famous racecourse character will be missed when “Bob" Wood, the Bolton farrier retires at sixty to be married. He is generally to be found in the paddock smoking a cigar and wear ing his leather apron. Peers and millionaires are numbered among Bob’s friends. He has plated eight Derby winners, two Grand Prix winners, and ten or twelve winners of the Oaks.
