WAIPUKURAU.
(Own Correspondent). In my notes of the annual meeting of the parishioners of the Anglican Church I omitted to state that the receipts for the year ending June 30th amounted to £579 16s 2d and the expenditure £554 2s 2d, thus showing a credit of £25 14s for the past year. The vital statistics for Waipukurau for the month of July were:— Births 10, deaths 4, marriages nil. For the same month in 1916, they were: —Births 9, deaths 4, marriages 2. A number of petty thefts have recently taken place in our midst. Clothes lines have had numerous articles removed from them. Fowl houses have also been visited by the thief or thieves. Mr W. H. Davey, of Lindsay, has been advised that his son Dick has been invalided home to New Zealand. Private Davey took part in the Messines battle on July 7th and it was there he received his woupds, his left arm below the shoulder being broken by shrapnel.
