At Feilding there was a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Forward wethers and good breeding ewes sold well, but competition for other sorts was not keen. Sheep—Superior two-tooth ewes in lagib 265, mixed age ewes in lamb 14s 6d to 16s, ono pen 18s, fat and forward wethers (real good line) 19s 4d, forward ewes and wethers 17s, 10s, fat ewes 16s 6d, store ewes 10s 9d, wether lambs 12s 6d, mixed lambs (small) 10s 2d to 10s 9d, culls 7s Bd. Cattle—ls-months heifers 283 6d, fat heifers £8 to £3lss, fat cows £4 10s, store cows 26s to £2, springing heifers £8 to £8 10s, spring cows £B.

At Johnsonville there was a fair entry of bullocks. The quality ranged from fine to medium light unfinished sorts. These made 21s 6d per 1001 b. Bost bullocks £8 17s 6d to £9 ss, others £8 to £8 15s, light £7 10s to £7 17s 6d. A fair entry of sheep of prime quality and heavy weights. Heavy wethers 21s to 21s Bd, others 19s, heavy ewes 19s lid to 20s 4d, lighter 17s 8d to 18s Bd, lambs 15s. Williams and Kettle, Limited, held their fortnightly sale at Woodville on Monday, and offered a very big yarding of both sheep and cattle, most of which changed hands at good prices. Sheep especially were in good demand, and in most cases the prices realised were much in advance of vendors' reserves. Cattle were not so brisk as at late sale, but in fat cattle young steers all sold at satisfactory prices. Quotations :—Fat and forward wethers 17s 9d, young ewes 16s Bd, lambs 9s 5d to 11s Id, empty ewes (forward) 12s.fid, f.m. ewes in lamb 9s 4d to 12s sd. Fat bullocks £6 12s, fat cows £4 to £4 16s fid, springing cows £4 10s to £5 10s, yearling steers 24s to £2 Is, weaners 12s 6d to 14s 6d, two and a half year steers £3 10s, store cows 80s 6d to £2.
