The Kaikora School Committee met on Tuesday evening, the members present hwing Messrs Grey (ohsir), Merrylees, Venn, Clark, Mundell, and Sutheiland (secretary). The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. The Head Teacher's report for the month ending Augnst 31st was read aa follows Number on roll, M. 70, F. 52 • total 122. Highest attendance, M. 69, f’. 50; total 119. Attendance for the- week ending August Bth, 109 ; August 15th, 111-3; August 220 d, 113-2 ; August 29th, 115,5. Average for the mouth, U 2-25. The Inspector having finished the examination of the school to-day, has made the following entry in the log book, “ Examined tbie school yesterday sod to-day, when all the pupils on the roll were in attendance. It ia pleasing to rOpoit thst the school is in admirable working order. A detailed report of its condition will bi sent to the committee io the course of a few days.” During the quarter ending July 21st I have reoeived aa contributions for stationery Ac., the sum of £3 15s 6d, for whioh I enclose a cheque. I wish to thank the commitee on behalf of thi school staff and the pupils for holidsy which they have considerately granted. An account of £1 14s for school requisites was passed for payment. Messrs Mundell and Venn were appointed a visiting committee for the month and the meeting closed.
