ONGA ONGA.

(OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

The concert in aid of school funds by the Parlour Minstrels, took place in the school on Friday evening and was a great success. The room was well filled, and a good programme was gone through and thoroughly appreciated by the audience. If an opinion can be formed, by the encores and hearty applause which greeted the various items, the efforts of the Minstrels to amuse were not in vain. The following ladies and gentlemen took part: —Misses Kerruish, McLeod, Higgs, N. Higgs, and Coles ; Mesdames Mackay and Coles ; Messrs McMillan, McLeod, Moran, Mi I borne, Hastie, and O’Neil. Miss Flora McLeod presided at the piano, and deserves great praise for the part she took m the programme. After the concert the room was cleared for dancing, and this kept the young people happy till the small hours of the morning. Mrs Coles had charge of the refreshments, and, I think, every one can say their wants were well attended to.
