Cambridge Rover leaves to attend World Moot in Norway

OF PEBSOIfAL INTEBEST

TN order to attend the World Rover 1 Moot at Skjak, Norway, in August, Mr Eric Sugden, of Karapiro, left from Auckland on Wednesday in the Northumberland. He had originally intended to sail as a passenger in the Rangitikei tomorrow, but the opportunity came at the last minute to join the crew of the Northumberland, and he will now work his passage to London and Glasgow, as several other New Zealand Rovers on their way to Norway are doing. Eric, who Ls 21 year of age, is the only Rover in the Northumberland, a number of others having already left. All British Rovers will meet at Scout Headquarters in England and continue on from there together to Norway. He has fixed no timetable as to when he will return. He will visit relatives in England, and intends to study farming methods as much as possible in the Old Country and Norway.

It is probable that altogether New Zealand will be represented by 37 Kovers at the world moot. Another from Cambridge is Mr David Denni-

THHE latest report from Mr Ted .Brown, of Cambridge, who is at present in South Africa, is that he is in the South West Mandated Territory, which was formerly German. Towing his portable welder, MiBrown and some friends are travelling in easy stages, working their way north. In a letter received the ether day, Mr Brown stated that the area was very desolate and the roads in poor condition. They slept in the car and it was very cold at nights because of the high altitude of nbout 3000 feet. The first night they were visited by a baboon, and although Mr Brown was the only one to see it. the footprints in the dust ground the car provided ample evidence in the morning. The next day a large flock of ostriches was seen near the road.
