OBITUARY

MR ROLAND VICKERS The death occurred after a very short illness on Monday last of a members of one of the best-known families in the Pukdrimu district in Mr Roland Vickers, of Lewis Road, Karaka, second youngest son of Mrs and the late Wright Vickers, aged 51 years. Mr Vickers passed away suddenly after being taken to the Middlemore Hospital. The deceased was born at Pukerimu and attended the district school, after which he learned farm-, ing on his late father’s property. He left Cambridge in 1931 and took up farming on his own account at Lewis Road, where he had remained ever since. Deceased was a good farmer and he became better known among aimers for his Lorella stud of Friesians. With young stock he competed successfully at Agricultural Shows, he being a member of the Franklin Agricultural Society and the Karaka branch of Federated Farmers. The late Mr Vickers married Miss V. McLarnon, daughter of the, late A. McLar.non, of Monavale, and he is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss Ella Vickers. Deceased was interred at the Papakura Cemetery. MRS IVY WILLIAMSON The death has occurred at Tokoroa of Mrs Ivy Williamson,wife of Mr F. H. Williamson, and formerly a well-known resident of Monavale. The late Mrs Williamson was the third daughter of the late Mr 'Peter Read, ot Kaipaki, and she .was educated at the Leamington and Ohaupo schools. Early in her married life she and her husband lived at New Plymouth, coming to Cambridge 15 years ago. In February of this year they moved to Tokoroa. Mrs Williamson was a staunch member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her husband, and family of three daughters and two sons.
