IX. BOOTH, Benjamin Bland. Born at Boston, Lincolnshire, in 1835, and came to New Zealand in the ship "William Miles." He served through the Maori War with the 3rd Waikato Regiment, and settled in Cambridge at the conclusion of hostilities in 1864. He is mentioned as a prominent resident of the district in the "Cyclopedia of New ealand" in 1902.
