THE CAMBRIDGE CLUB

LINKING UP WITH WAIKATO

At a special general meeting of the Cambridge Hockey Association, held last evening, it was decided that that body go into recess for the season and that players combine in forming a Cambridge Club to compete in the Waikato Association's senior competition at Hamilton.

It was pointed out by the chairman, M IV A.. Finch, that with the falling off; of membership through a number of players leaving the district, difficulty would be experienced in running a competition in Cambridge. The officers who 'were elected at the recent annual meeting of the Cambridge Association were appointed officers of the club. Messrs F. M. Oliver and D. McKinnon will attend the annual meeting of the Waikato Association this evening.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The annual meeting of the Cambridge Hockey Association was held last Thursday. In the absence of the president, Mr A. Finch, Mr F. M. Oliver presided., The annual report stated that the association was formed last year when three team r s participated in the competition. On the whole a successful season was experienced. The congratulations of the association were extended to the Roto-o-rangi team, who won the competition. Cambridge bad entered a team in the annual White Horse Cup competition and had performed creditably. The statement of accounts showed a satisfactory credit balance. Election of Officers The. following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr F. Lye; president,, Mr A. Finch; vice-presidents, Messrs F. M. Oliver, R. Hamley, \V. Munroe, 1). Lowe, C.'Ruge, D. Busso, M. Wilkinson, and Capt. D. Dillon: secretary and treasurer, Mr F. M. Oliver; assistant secretary, Mr \V. Munroe; lelegat'es to Waikato Hockey Association, Messrs A. Finch, F. M. Oliver and 1). McKinnon. Thanks were extended to all outgoing officers, especially to Mr W. Kehely, who" is leaving the district.
