POLICE PROMOTIONS

TRANSFER OF BOTH CAMBRIDGE CONSTABLES MR DOEL PROMOTED SERGEANT Well deserved promotion lias come to both police representatives at Cambridge, Constable A. Doel, who has been in charge of this district for the past two years, having been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and transferred to Auckland, and Constable O. Rice appointed to take charge of the Tanefitna district. Sergeant Doel was formerly on the Auckland city stall, and later was in charge of the Epsom district. He came to Cambridge on 22nd December, 1932. The date of his departure from Cambridge has not yet been fixed, but on taking over his new duties in Auckland he will be attached to the Central Police Station. Constable Rice also came to Cambridge about two years ago. His new appointment is his first as eonstabie-in-cha'rge. The Taneatua district, where he will relieve Constable McDonnell, is a big one and includes the northern part of the Urewera. The new constable-in-charge at Cambridge will be Constable C. H. Maisey, at present of Avondale. He has web over twenty years’ service to his credit. For some years he was a mounted constable in Auckland, being later transferred to Waiapu, North Auckland. He returned to Auckland two years ago to take charge of the Avondale'district. Constable Maisey has a familv of five sons and daughters.
