“TURKEY TIME”

A WALLS-LYNN COMEDY FRESH FEAST OF FUN It is rather a pity that the title “Nice Goings On” had already been appropriated for a stage production when “Turkey Time,” a GaumontBritish picture was due to bo chistoned. It would have made an ideal title for this riotous Tom Walls-Ralph Lynn farce, for the “goings .on” in “Turkey Time” are, if possible, more preposterous than ever. “Turkey Time” will bo screened at the matinee at the Town Hall Theatre this afternoon, tonight, and again on Monday night.

Mr Walls masquerading as an cxcowpuncher from the wilds of Montana, is in a very lively mood and very full of “hc-man stuff,” and that amiable goat, Mr Ralph Lynn, surpasses himself in landing everybody within cooee, including himself, into a perfect maelstrom of awkward scrapes.

What more natural, indeed, that, these well-meaning, but a, trifle clumsy fellows should go in search of a little fun, tho scascSn being Christmas time, the locality a dull little English seaside town! And what more inevitable than that they should find so much of it as to bo swamped in an embarrassment of riches? :Two blameless good ■fellows, they generously-help a sweet and innocent girl; out of her financial difficulties. The result is an unbelievable mix-rip, fairly bristling with •hatred, malice, envy rind all uncharitableness.

And does Robertson Hare escape? Not at all;"’ This height 1 " of the whole delicious farce is' reached when Walls and Lynn "proceed to put something over on the shrinking Hare. In this instance, they rob him “by subterfuge” as he so aptly phrases it, of the contents of a collection-box entrusted to him by a carol-singing party. Then they leave him in the girl’s bedroom to be caught by his wife.

As an additional attraction, there will be a personal appearance of Tex Morton, late of The Gaieties, Melbourne, in harmony yodelling and cowbov melodics.
