HARVEST FESTIVAL

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CELE- a BRATIONS. SPECIAL SUNDAY SERVICES. The festival of harvest was celebrated in Trinity Presbyterian Church on Sunday last, and was attended by large congregations. A plentiful supply of the fruits of the harvest field were in evidence, some of which, along with beautiful flowers, of which Cambridge is so prolific, had been -worked into ft colour scheme suggestive of the autumn season. The artistry of willing hands, to whom much credit-is due, had thus prepared the setting, lending a distinctiveness and charm to the whole celebration which will long be remembered. The preacher for the day, Rev. Jas. Hay, chose appropriate themes, that of the morning being "Sowing and Reaping," which grew out of the text, "Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he .also reap. He that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the spirit of the spirit reap life everlaisting.'' gn| At the evening service the pulpit theme was "The Full Chalices of God," preached from the text, "Come, for all things are now ready." Music appropriate for the occasion was a feature of the services. In ad- » dition to the usual music of the service special anthems were sung by the choir.

The proceeds .of the festival, which weighed upwards of a ton, were packed and forwarded to the Presbyterian Orphanages, Auckland.
